The Rodale Institute wrote the proverbial bible on organic gardening, and have been promoting it since 1947. The Rodale Institute's website features organic news, research and advocacy; a certifier directory, crop conversion calculator, price reports, course offerings, resource directory, classifieds, articles, reports, farmer-to-farmer stories, forums, and gobs of information.
 

International movement of peasants, small- and medium-sized producers, landless people, rural women, indigenous people, rural youth and agricultural workers working to develop solidarity and unity among small farmer organizations in order to promote gender parity and social justice in fair economic relations; the preservation of land, water, seeds and other natural resources; food sovereignty; and sustainable agricultural production globally.

An outstanding organization!

The Kaslo Food Security Project (a project of North Kootenay Lake Community Services Society in beautiful Kaslo, British Columbia) launched it's second year with Lawns to Gardens- a project to encourage, inspire and guide as many residents as possible to convert their lawns into nutrient rich food and native plant producing gardens. This video is glance at our Lawns to Gardens project. We hope that many communities will use it to inspire and dig up as many lawns as possible.
