In 2009, Food Matters Manitoba prepared an annotated listing of food security policies, programs, and reports from across Canada. This new report, updates the first report with a new scan for policies, programs, and government reports from provincial and territorial governments.
This Toolkit shares innovative and effective actions that are being taken in British Columbia, Canada, and elsewhere to promote sustainable food production. It offers tools and advocacy ideas to help regional board members, area directors, municipal councillors, and local government staff and planners create a favorable environment for local and sustainable food production.

This workbook was developed as part of a series of research projects on food security. As well as using research and experiences drawn from the Nova Scotia Food Security Projects, it incorporates ideas, insights and advice from people involved in food security issues and actions across Canada.
Subtitled "Understanding tradeoffs and identifying options", this January 2009 policy brief is one of a series published by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). This brief examines the likely adverse impacts of growing biofuels and outlines options for reducing these.
