Adding Resources

Once registered, you will have the ability to add resources to the Bits & Bytes website. For detailed instructions on uploading resources, please refer to our Uploading Guide (PDF 479KB). Here's an overview of the resource types you will be able to add:

• Documents: .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .xls, .ods, .csv, .ppt
• Audio Files: .mp3
• Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .ai, .eps, .ps
• Archives: .zip
• Websites: full website URL (eg. http://www.bitsandbytes.ca/)
• Videos: see below

Adding Video Resources

In order to improve website and database performance, and reduce file storage, video files are not stored on the Bits & Bytes web server. You can add video resources to our website by adding an "embed" code from a video hosting service. We recommend both Vimeo and YouTube. Both of these services allow you to upload your video, and will provide you with the "embed" code necessary for posting to the Bits & Bytes website. Remember, services such as Viddler and YouTube set their own policies and terms of use, and are not affiliated with Bits & Bytes in any way.
